Since 1962, Mercy Super has been providing superannuation services to employees of Sisters of Mercy organisations and like-minded associated employers. Set up by the Sisters of Mercy, the Fund was founded on care and empathy - an important value that is still at the core of how we do business - always.
Mercy Super will contribute to the financial security of the employees of Sisters
of Mercy organisations and other associated employers by providing access to a
premium superannuation fund and associated financial services. These benefits
will be provided with the highest integrity, focusing on the client at all times.

Mercy Super has been providing benefits to its members since it was established, as the Sisters of Mercy Staff Superannuation Scheme, in 1962. The Fund has now grown to over 10,000 members, and is well known for its delivery of efficient service to both members and employers.
Mercy Super is a corporate fund which is offered exclusively to the employees of the Fund's Principal Employer, the Sisters of Mercy Brisbane, and other Associated Employers admitted to the Fund by the Principal Employer. Typically Associated Employers are ministries of the Sisters of Mercy.
For most of its history, the Fund has offered several membership categories to provide employers and eligible members with a choice suitable to their superannuation needs.
Investment options were offered to members in the 2003 / 2004 year. The Fund currently has in excess of $400 million in assets due to competitive long-term investment returns.
The Fund's administration was outsourced for a period of time. In 1993, it was decided to internally administer the Fund to improve the level of service provided to members. Mercy Super is one of the few funds that undertakes its own administration and client service activities. The Mercy Super office is located on the ground floor of the Whitty Building, Mater Health Services, South Brisbane.
In July 2009 the Fund updated its insurance benefits with the appointment of MLC Ltd. All members can now apply for a combination of life, total and permanent disablement and income protection cover, at competitive rates. These benefits are offered in a flexible package designed to cater for every member's personal insurance needs.
In October 2009, the Fund changed its name from the Sisters of Mercy Staff Superannuation Scheme to Mercy Super. The change in name was accompanied by a positioning statement of 'Always for you'. This phrase reflects an even greater focus on ensuring that we provide the best possible benefits and service to our members.
